The first floor of The Lincoln is home to two independent retail spaces: Marco Alexzander Salon and Urban Planting Cleveland.

Both are open to the public, offering practical services that are key to making a neighborhood feel like home.

Marco Alexzander Salon

Our new residents are often asking us where they can get their hair done, and we love that Marco Alexzander—a former SCA resident—is helping us answer that question.

Marco launched his independent salon in April 2022. After working in the industry for more than a decade and as an independent stylist for the last five years, Marco decided it was time to craft his own space—and looked to his home neighborhood to put down the roots of his first business.

Marco Alexzander Salon offers haircuts and styling, blowouts, colors, other treatments, and an array of product and retail offerings.

Urban Planting Cleveland

No apartment is complete without a houseplant or two. It's a thought we had when we opened The Tappan in 2020, when we partnered with Elio Calabrese and his team at Urban Planting to gift a potted plant to each new resident. Elio came to mind again when we started to think about retail at The Lincoln—especially considering the building's emphasis on greenery.

Urban Planting Cleveland was founded in 2017. It began as a pop-up shop at events throughout the city before Elio opened his flagship brick and mortar store in Cleveland’s Edgewater neighborhood in 2019.

Urban Planting offers plant care, classes, plant rentals, commercial interior landscaping, and custom moss artwork. In conjunction with his expansion to The Lincoln, Elio plans to introduce additional services, including workshops and expanded class offerings.

THE SCRANTON BUSINESS DISTRICT

Marco and Elio join a series of businesses that live within SCA properties. For example, just across Willey Avenue, you'll find Acupuncture First, The Cleveland Chocolate Company, and Tremont Athletic Club at the Fairmont Creamery. Leavened, a popular neighborhood bakery, is located nearby at The Tappan.

SCA is committed to working with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and first-time business owners. In addition to retail, our buildings are also home to a number of professional agencies, including Behnke Landscape Architecture, Brite Skies, and TWIST Creative.

The Historic Scranton Corridor—and Tremont as a whole—is a thriving business district, and residents will find themselves within easy walking distance of boutiques, galleries, restaurants, coffeeshops, and more.
